Agenda For the day: Students will be introduced to a new contemporary artist. Students will watch a quick demonstration on how to get the mask base started. Students will Start working on their masks. Asya Gontsa is a contemporary Ukrainian paper sculptor and relief artist. Her monochromatic collaged masks show intricate designs, patterns, and shapes. She plays with positive and negative space as part of her design. Objectives for today: -Students will write their answers to questions regarding masks. -Students will listen to a short lecture and project introduction. -Students will sketch their mask designs.
